Universal Music Latino recording artist, pianist and composer Arthur Hanlon will lead a “New Generation” of Latin music talent as they perform live to mark the launch of the historic song and video “Únete con la Gota de la Vida.”
The song, written by Arthur, was recorded by 46 Latin stars, including Enrique Iglesias, Luis Fonsi, David Bisbal, Gloria Estefan, Plácido Domingo, Marco Antonio Solís, Fanny Lu and Germán Montero, among many others.

“La Gota de la Vida” commemorates a national health awareness campaign to encourage the Latino community to join the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) and support City of Hope, a leading research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.

“The campaign ‘Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope’ has touched my heart like no other project throughout my career. The campaign’s image, a hand holding a drop of life-inspired the music and lyrics of the song. I feel honored to be part of such a noble cause,” said Hanlon.

They are the ambassadors of our efforts to raise bone marrow registry awareness in the Hispanic communities,” said Mike Mortensen, Chairman of the Hispanic Food Circle for City of Hope. In 2010, more than 137,000 new cases of blood-related cancers will be diagnosed in the U.S. Only 30 to 40 percent of patients who need bone marrow transplantation will find a match within their family, while others will be directed to the National Marrow Donor Registry to find an unrelated match. Currently, there is a need for more Latino donors in the National Marrow Donor Program.
